Dear ELEC grad students,
All ELEC grad students (including PhD students) have to fulfill the requirements of the ELEC 590 Seminar course before graduation.
Every MS or PhD student must take the ELEC 590 Seminar course once to get S as grade.
You are recommended to fulfill the requirements of the course by the end of the first year (for MS students) and by the end of the second year (for PhD students).
A grad student must attend at least 7 seminars to get S as grade from this course in a given semester. The seminars attended should have taken place within the same semester.
For each seminar you attend, have a sheet of paper (containing information on seminar title, presenter’s name, location, date and time, i.e., a printout of the seminar announcement) signed by the faculty host of the seminar or any EE faculty member attending the seminar.
The seminars to attend are not pre-arranged, or forced upon you. You may attend any seminar of your choice, as long as your advisor approves (the seminar can even be held at another institution or another related department). Please note that UNIV 101 seminars, keynotes/tutorials at scientific conferences and PhD defenses can be considered.

At the end of the semester, please submit at least seven (7) signatures to GSSE Office to receive an S grade.
