Prof. Öznur Özkasap has received The Informatics Association of Türkiye 2019 Prof. Aydın Köksal Computer Engineering Science Award.
The Informatics Association of Türkiye (Türkiye Bilişim Derneği – TBD) founder Prof. Dr. Aydın Köksal has contributed 2500 scientific terms, such as “Bilgisayar: Computer”, “Bilişim: Informatics” and “Yazılım: Software”, to Turkish language. TBD was established in 1971 with a great vision of the future by a group of half-academics who can be referred to as professionals in informatics today, and it has become a pioneering movement of civil community that aims to disseminate the culture of informatics with its members from all layers of the society. TBD, with over 12,000 members, 7 main branches, 13 offices in provinces and TBD-Young organizations at universities, contributes significantly to the development of informatics sector.
