Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Physics Professor and former President Prof. Umran S.İnan has been honoured with the John Adam Fleming Medal by the American Geophysical Union (AGU), presented to one esteemed scientist every year since 1962 (https://www.agu.org/honors/fleming). Widely recognized for his outstanding contributions in the fields of geophysics, near-space, ionospheric and atmospheric physics, radiation belts, electromagnetic wave-particle interactions, and very low-frequency radio science, Prof. İnan was awarded this significant medal in recognition of his pioneering discoveries and technical leadership in lightning-ionosphere coupling and magnetospheric wave-particle interactions.
